Ashes to go. The Lenten Message on the Move!

Annual Report Photo Collage _1_.png

On Ash Wednesday we expanded our "Ashes to Go" ministry to include the beach as well as Mizner Park. We were reminded of the healing power of blessing as the first person who came for ashes at the beach broke into tears as ashes were imposed and words of blessing spoken. At Mizner Park, there were several people waiting for us when we arrived. One proudly remarked she had received ashes from us for the past seven years! Another, who worked for the Mizner Park management company, asked for our permission to email the entire Mizner Park residential community that we available to give ashes and offer prayers. And while it is an immense blessing for us to offer ashes and blessings, its is also an immense blessing to us to move outside the beloved comfort of our sacred walls and to bear Christ's blessing into the world.
