WHERE DID WE SEE JESUS THIS THANKSGIVING?

Before Thanksgiving day is over, I wanted to comment on the day from my perspective. Initially I feared we would not be able to make Thanksgiving as special from behind the plexiglass and in a walk through type service. I am so happy to say that I was wrong.

I was blown away by the overall experience from beginning to end.

I know Gena is my wife and everyone knows I will brag about her, but that aside, the job she did today was amazing. The execution of the guest and volunteer experience was flawless, so my hat is off to Gena.

So many times we try to think where did we see Jesus today? I saw Jesus everywhere. I saw him in all the folks that helped prep to food and worked tirelessly for hours. Joyce Pribell, Sylvia Hall, Kay Holt, Anna Thomas, Pat, Jo Pribell & Josh Pribell. Our Turkey carvers Donatella (candle lady) and Tommy.

I saw him in the team of folks that decorated the courtyard, Kathy Cotrell, Gena's sister Donamarie and her two nieces. Seriously, how great did that Courtyard look? How special?

I saw Jesus in the speech Gena gave to the volunteers along with the bible verse. I saw Jesus in Hannah's prayer that she said with the volunteers to really bring us back to focus on what the day was about, it was about being Thankful to the Lord for all of our blessings. Anita being our offical photographer. The Meechum-Gibbs family gave a warm welcome to each of our guests and set the pace. We had two teams of volunteers that worked shifts on the buffet line. The Thomas family and all their smiling faces at the prize table. It means so much to the guests to see the volunteers of all ages to be donating their time. Our kitchen team today was on fire, Sylvia, Josie & Gena's mom Sue, handling the drive thru service, we have about 75 meals to go!!!

Meals with Meaning was never meant to be a transactional experience, we are all called upon to share our time & talents with others, especially those less fortunate.
