THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER

Last Sunday forty people both in-person and online gathered for our first of six classes focusing on the Book of Common Prayer as a resource and tool for growing and deepening our relationship with God in Jesus Christ. If you missed the first class, you are still welcome to join us for the remaining weeks.

I was particularly struck by the shared yearning of those gathered to work intentionally on their spiritual lives. We all want to get better at this, to have our life with God become richer, truer, and more real.

What also struck me is what an undiscovered treasure the Book of Common Prayer is to help us with this holy work. The BCP, as it's familiarly known, contains words prayed over centuries that speak to this soul-yearning. Within its pages are holy structures to guide our engagement with scripture, our communal and private worship, and the spiritual ordering of our days, weeks, and year. What a blessing!

Sometimes the things that make the greatest difference are literally right at our fingertips waiting to be broken open. Hope you can join us on this faith journey.

Blessings in Christ,

Andrew+
