SYMBOLS
Symbols are everywhere, reminding us of who we are, of where we are, providing definition to the world in which we live, even warning us of impending dangers. In our Episcopal Faith, we have the Cross, the Anglican Shield, the Vine and the Branches, and the Eagle, all of which hold special significance and meaning within our Episcopal Church. The Symbol of Inclusion above speaks to many in our community of faith who have been unwelcomed or shunned by others, even by other congregations of faith. Many within the LGBTQ+ community see it as a symbol of Gay Pride while others who have experienced the prejudice and bigotry within the church, see it as a symbol of Hope and Acceptance where they can find the Love of God and know they are accepted as beloved Children of God. How fortunate we are at St. Gregory's to be a beacon of Hope and Acceptance for so many. May this colorful symbol radiate and illuminate the power of Love in the Cross for all, "Transforming Hearts and Community through Jesus' Love."
