RELATIONSHIP

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you,

that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. ~ 1 John 1:5

This past Sunday evening, a group of worshippers gathered on our church’s front lawn with cars whizzing by on Mizner Blvd, people walking dogs, and the general buzz of downtown Boca. We gathered to mark the anniversary of a year unlike any other, a year of walking the pandemic wilderness. We said fervent prayers, listened to heart-stirring poetry and music, and as dusk slowly fell, we lit candles. We did not simply light candles to memorialize our losses. We lit them to recall and honor the fires of our relationships, those that we share with one another and that of our truest, deepest relationship, with the Light that illumines, forms, reconciles, heals and restores every thing — the Light of Christ in which nothing is hidden and nothing is lost.
