NEW BEGINNINGS

Advent is the season of New Beginnings, a time of fresh hope and new light. It seemed ever the more fitting that we welcomed our new Senior Associate Rector, The Reverend Dr. Robyn Neville this week as we began our new church year and opened a new chapter in the life of St. Gregory’s.

As you get to know Reverend Robyn, I know you’ll be energized and inspired by her presence as I have been these past few days.

As we welcome Reverend Robyn, we also usher in the new church year with a time of coming together to celebrate our founding and our love for God in Jesus Christ with a spectacular Holiday Gala on Saturday evening, December 7. I’ve always been so impressed by you, St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church, for your commitment to ministry not just inside the confines of the physical campus, but outside those confines as you continually spread the love of God into the community and the world beyond. Your example of loving others through your devotion to the work of God is felt far and wide. Your reach beyond the walls of the building is monumental and your effectiveness impacts the lives of people you will never know. The ministries which you enable are foundational to who you are as a people of God and identify you to the community of Boca Raton and to the world. From Children and Youth to Sunday School, from Music to Meals with Meaning, your ministries touch the lives of so many in a kaleidoscope of various ways.

Your support of the Holiday Gala will directly benefit the ministries of St. Gregory’s—YOUR ministries, YOUR church. This year’s Gala will be another memorable event beginning with a special concert by our dear friend and jazz legend Wycliffe Gordon, followed by an outstanding dinner and an incredible silent/live auction. The Gala will be your chance to not only support the ministries of St. Gregory’s, but to experience an evening that will be totally unique not to be duplicated anywhere! Where else in the world will you be able to relish the magical music-making of Wycliffe which will be in our beautiful sanctuary with its amazing acoustics, and afterwards feast on a banquet of the finest food ever served in Boca?! And don’t forget all the amazing one-of-a-kind items up for auction!

If you can’t attend on Saturday, why not purchase a ticket for someone else? This is your chance to give something special to someone else, providing an evening they won’t soon forget.

New Beginnings—new hope—new light. Be the hope, be the light, be the peace, be the miracle in someone else’s life by supporting St. Gregory’s and the Holiday Gala!

Blessings,

Tim Brumfield
