ST. GREGORY'S HOLIDAY GALA FEATURING WYCLIFFE GORDON
Last Saturday, we held our glorious annual Holiday Gala which featured Wycliffe Gordon, the legendary jazz performer (and brother-in-law of Timothy Brumfield!). The event also is a celebration of the 71st anniversary of the founding of St. Gregory's. It truly was a magical night.
I felt a particular joy that we celebrated in so many of our newly renovated spaces--the sanctuary, courtyard, Harris Hall and the East Terrace--as we flowed through the evening. These spaces are making a difference, and we need your help as we get the word out that St. Gregory's can serve as a venue for outside events. We are still finalizing the accounting, but we hope to exceed our stretch goal of $40,000 in support of the ministries of St. Gregory's.
This year I want to express special thanks for the team of people who worked so hard to make this such a memorable evening. Carol Boucard and Mary Herin chaired the event and supported the magnificent leadership of our Senior Warden, Bill Lintz. Rose and Gena Valle, ably assisted by a volunteer army of Meals with Meaning volunteers prepared and served the delicious meal.
Timothy Brumfield oversaw the details of the concert with a team of volunteers serving as ticket salespersons and greeters. Kristen Chaney, our Parish Administrator, led our staff team in coordinating logistics and set-up. Dawn Rahicki shared her talents for marketing and promotion. Laura Leonard and Anita Sherman led the creative decorating team. Our sponsors provided the financial support that served as a foundation for the financial success of the evening.
It was the Body of Christ working together to celebrate and serve the mission of Christ at St. Gregory's. Well done good and faithful servants! You all made a difference!
In Christ,
Andrew+
