GOD'S FRUIT IS BOUNTIFUL

God's fruit is bountiful!

When you read the weekly Making a Difference stories do you search for God in each narrative? Whether you seek or not, Love is in every story. Every Friday when I conclude online Morning Prayer, I make the statement “may we seek and see God in all we do, in everyone and in everything”.

In this week’s story, where do you see God?

At Meals with Meaning, I have the privilege to meet people sometimes at their most vulnerable. This is not limited to our guests. I would include the volunteers and folks dropping off donations in that observation.

Recently a woman reached out wishing to pay tribute to her father who had passed away. She decided that donating to Meals with Meaning would be the best way to honor him. She then arrived with fresh fruit. To be exact, she gave 90 pounds of bananas and 22 bags of tangerines!! Our guests love fresh fruit! I am unsure who was most excited: me, the guests, or the giver. When deciding what to donate, I asked her what did her father like or cherish. It was revealed that he loved fruit and all things nutritious. Bringing such gifts to our guests honored her father in a way that for her, a Hindu was able to lift her father up even in his death.

The blessing inside of a blessing is that after talking to her about the Boca Raton Interfaith Youth Association (BRIYA), she is eager to connect her Hindu Temple with us. The Festival of Lights known as Dewali is next month. Thanks to this woman honoring her father through Meals with Meaning, BRIYA will be expanding our interfaith reach to our Hindu family.

Thanks be to God for bringing ALL of his people together in Love.
