ADVENT 4 - THE CANDLE OF LOVE

Greetings and Happy Advent!

We are approaching the 4th Sunday of Advent which brings us the Candle of Love. While we are preparing and anticipating the coming of Christ, let us hold the candles, the light of Hope, Peace and Joy as we bring Love into this Advent Circle.

From the light of Christ comes Hope

We can trust in a loving God who created everything in and through love. And we are assured that it is good. Really good. This is the source of our hope. Hope isn’t wishful thinking. Instead it’s a joyous anticipation of God’s continuing revelation of love, often in surprising and unexpected ways.

How do we embody Hope?

From the light of Christ comes Peace

As Fr Andrew brought to us 2 weeks ago the Hebrew word, Shalom when speaking of Christ’s Peace, I remind you of the same. Shalom is a complete peace and wellness of the mind, body and spirit. As Christians, we are given this gift as we have Christ, the keeper of peace within us.

How can we embody Peace?

From the light of Christ comes Joy

As we enter more deeply into Hope and Peace, Joy begins to blossom and bear fruit. Joy enlivens and enlightens us. Joy shines forth from us to enliven and enlighten others.

How do we embody Joy?

From the light of Christ comes Love

By love we were created. In this love, we are given hope, peace and joy. It is through this love that we have the ability to see all things as reflections of God’s beauty and goodness.

How do we embody Love?

With all of this Hope, Peace, Joy and Love we move towards the mystery and miracle of Christmas

Blessings to all,

Anita Sherman and Gena Vallee
