TOGETHER, WE MADE THE ROAD BY WALKING....AND BY SERVING!

This past Saturday, 20+ volunteers from St. Gregory’s traveled to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tequesta to help pack meals for children from Bon Samaritan, our companion parish in Bondeau, Haiti. Our intergenerational group included teens, young adults, retirees and others. We served a 90-minute shift, working assembly-line style, with many other volunteers. We packed over 22,000 of the target 75,000 meals. Whew! (75,000 meals will feed the children at Bon Samaritan School for 6 months. We heard from the Good Shepherd coordinators that the 75K goal was reached, thanks be to God!) Aside from the joy and blessing of being able to help our children (yes, they are our children, too!) receive nutritious meals. A beautiful gift of this event was the relationship building that occurred while traveling to and from Tequesta as well as from working side by side. Commonalities were discovered. The seeds of deeper communion were sown. Love and joy were unleashed.

I wonder where this road will lead us next?

Blessings,

Anita Sherman
