Providing Seminary Education in Madagascar
Betsy Wenzel and Walter Jones bring you greetings from Bishop Todd McGregor, The Rev. Patsy McGregor, and all of the clergy and people of the Diocese of Toliara in southwestern Madagascar. We had a wonderful trip visiting many of the churches and schools. The teachers and students of St. Paul’s School in Mahaboboka were grateful for the white boards and other school supplies we were able to provide through your generous response to our plea. The people of Madagascar value education and consider it a priority in raising their children – even though resources are limited. Providing of these enhancements to their classrooms is greatly appreciated. We are also pleased to report we raised the $3000 for the construction of an additional classroom for the school in Mahaboboka.
While there we had the great privilege of witnessing the ordination of Nolavy as the first woman to be ordained as a priest in the Province of the Indian Ocean. Three deacons were also ordained and 6 evangelists were commissioned during the 5 hour (yes, 5 hours!) service! Your generosity allowed us to create a discretionary fund for each of them to aid in their new ministries. Our Von Kreuter Endowment Fund has covered the expense for the seminary education for these deacons and the priest.
Thank you again for your prayers of support for the Diocese of Toliara and for the financial support of these ministers and schools.
To your great health, Betsy Wenzel & Walter Jones
