PENTECOST SUNDAY

This past Sunday we celebrated Pentecost - God's love as the fire that animates our world - with a youth-infused service that doubled as a celebration for the end of the Sunday School year. The younger ones among us were acolytes, crucifers, readers, and altar hands during Communion. After a beautiful Eucharist, we joined the kids on the East Terrace where many put on swimsuits to enjoy the inflatable water slide while being treated by the Brothers to a true summer lunch of hot dogs, hamburgers, and fruit. What a fun way to mark this threshold in our year of transitioning from Eastertide to Pentecost to summer as we engage in the (almost) lost art of leisure. Thanks be to God!
