Ministry in the Time of Coronavirus

Ministry in the time of the Coronavirus is challenging us to experiment with new ways of engaging in worship. This past Sunday and during the week we've begun videoing and live-streaming our Sunday and weekday worship services. The clergy and music worship team have experienced a surge of creative energy as we seek to connect in new ways to God and each other. We received encouraging feedback from many members about these efforts. Thank you. We've also received good questions like: how do I participate in Holy Communion virtually? In response, I invite everyone to gather with your loved ones during these virtual worship services and perhaps have a simple piece of bread in front of you, or perhaps focus on a view of creation outside your window or even an photo or painting. You might also consider reaching out in a personal way and with deep love to those who are nearest and dearest to you. Let these be sacramental signs connecting you to God's presence in this Christ-soaked world. God is not quarantined so be expectant: wilderness times are when the transformational movement of God's Spirit is sometimes most keenly felt.
