EUCHARISTIC CHORAL EVENSONG

This past Sunday evening at 5 pm we had our second monthly Eucharistic Choral Evensong. Keeping with St. Gregory's ethos of being both traditional and dynamic, I had the privilege to sit behind the altar and take in Tim's and Sam's beautiful music that is a true hallmark of Anglican/Episcopal identity. The service began with What Star Is This, With Beams So Bright - encouraging us in this season of Epiphany to be on the lookout for the manifestation of God everywhere. We then entered into the Eucharist before closing with a haunting organ meditation to carry us into the night with a blessing.

One person reflected on it with these words,

"Wow! I am a new member of St. Gregory's and was thrilled to hear the very beautiful Evensong liturgy on Sunday. I have always loved Evensong, but had no idea that I could be as deeply touched and moved as I was."

And another person said,

"This was the first time I've ever attended a service like this and I found this beautiful experience very moving and inspiring. The music, canticles, prayers, and Eucharist under evening candlelight truly provided a sacred and special time."

And contemplatively sacred it was. Please join us on Sunday, February 27 at 5 pm to experience with all your senses the breadth and depth and beauty and dynamism that our Church holds us within.

In Christ,

Ben+
