ANN SEWARD
Last Tuesday we commended Ann Seward into the loving arms of God. Ann led an extraordinary life of grace and grit. At St. Gregory's, she was our volunteer harpist for our 6 pm service. Her gift of music added such beauty and holiness to our worship. She also frequently played for our Yoga Mass worship where her music created a holy space for movement and connection with the flow of the Holy Spirit. She was a cherished part of our Women's Bible Study circle, the St. Gregory's Icon Guild, and our St. Gregory's Knitting and Crocheting circle. In her spare time between her constant treatment for cancer, she managed to translate the entire New Testament from the original Greek into what is the Ann Seward Interpretive Version of the scriptures-- a simply remarkable work of scholarship.
A member of St. Gregory's shared this with me: "my first visit to St. Gregory's was at a 6 pm service and the first impression of the community was the sound of Ann's harp."
May the sound of the music of her life continue to reverberate through our congregation by the grace of God!
In Christ,
