A BRIYA Moment
The Boca Raton Interfaith Youth Association (BRIYA), was founded last October. We normally meet once a month at one of the BRIYA congregations. Well, this past Sunday was anything but normal. We met at the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge. We spent the evening on a guided tour, enjoyed dinner together and said closing prayers in both Hebrew and English. As we finished our prayers one of the youth members said "I feel like I need to share this with everyone. It is a Jewish song that just sums up how I feel after today". As the cool evening breeze picked up, the sun was setting and the world seemed to become perfectly still, she sang "My God, My God, I pray that these things never end:
The sand and the sea,
The rush of the waters,
Lightening of the Heavens,
The prayer of Man".
Witnessing this was more than music to my ears, it was as if God was dancing in all of us at the exact same moment. This is just one of the endless BRIYA blessings that I am grateful to receive. Gena
