Last Sunday we celebrated our Sunday School ministry and the formation of our children and youth in Christ. At the 10 am Eucharist, three high school students–Johanna Pribell, Hannah Sherman and Sam Beavin — offered reflections on Jesus as our Good Shepherd. Their thoughtful, inspiring and personal words touched hearts–a sign of God’s transforming love moving among us!  Here is an excerpt from Johanna’s reflection: “I feel above all a comfort in knowing that the Lord is my shepherd, guiding and directing me always. When I think of green pastures and quiet waters I feel at peace and worry free….I feel God’s presence and guidance everyday through people and through places such as here in church. But sometimes I feel lost and confused too. For example I find it so difficult to understand why certain things happen like why there have been 14 mass shootings in the U.S. in the month of May alone and we’re not even halfway through the month. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for you are with me…” Please join me in praying for all our children and youth that they would be rooted, grounded, growing and thriving in God’s love in Christ Jesus.  Fr.
