Go GREEN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON  Earth Friendly Gifts Make Great Presents
This holiday don’t get caught up in extra car travel and emissions in search of the perfect gift.  Think green with these ideas for gifts.  Christmas doesn’t have to be a burden on the environment.  Buy smart, think green.

  • Give a Membership to a Local Park: Gumbo Limbo Nature Park in Boca Raton where you can visit the sea turtle hospital and your membership fee is used toward sea life in South Florida.  More Adventurous?  Give an annual pass to Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach with bike rentals and access to water activities .
  • Buy Locally Made Jewelry: Visit local farmers’ markets and art shows to find unique handcrafted pieces not mass produced, crafted from recycled and sustainable materials and  without the added costs of transportation.

More Green Ideas: Give battery free gifts. According to the EPA about 40% of all battery sales occur during the holiday season.  Batteries are an environmental disaster; even rechargeable batteries eventually end up in landfills.

Start an Earth Friendly Christmas Tradition

  • Clean up a natural area such as a park or the beach
