Daughters of the King

Daughters of the King is an international religious order for women of the Episcopal churches, churches in communion with it, or churches in the Historic Episcopate. The order was founded in 1885 by Margaret J. Franklin at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in New York City. Today our membership includes women in Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA) and Roman Catholic churches. We are one of the fastest growing ministries in the Episcopal Church.

The mission of the order is the extension of Christ’s Kingdom through prayer, service, and evangelism. A Daughter pledges herself to a rule of life incorporating the rule of prayer and the rule of service to strengthen the spiritual life of her parish.

We are blessed to have two chapters of the Daughters of the King at St. Gregory’s: the Ethel Odessa chapter and the St. Barnabas Chapter. Prayer requests are forwarded as they come in to each Daughter and daily prayers are offered for each request. The Daughters make an earnest effort to further Christ’s work by participating in the various ministries at St Gregory’s.

All women are welcome to join in the special ministry of prayer and service. To learn more about the Order please contact the Rev. Nancy McCarthy at 561-272-3084 or at revnancy474@comcast.net.

Our Motto

For His Sake . . .
I am but one, but I am one.
I can not do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do.
Lord, what will you have me do?
