I spent 27 years in the corporate world in and around Boston, Massachusetts, in the area of finance and administration. For 11 years I worked for a Department of Defense electronics company, where I moved through the ranks to be Division Controller and Group Controller overseeing four divisions. I then spent 12 years with a semi-conductor equipment manufactory as Director of Finance for the Americas, overseeing finance and information technology. The company manufactured advance pumping systems. For the last three years I was Director of Acquisitions and Integration where we successfully acquired three other companies.
After a very cold and snowy winter of 2004, my wife, Michele, and I decided that it was the right time to move to South Florida, which was always our plan to do someday; we just did it earlier than we thought we would. We quickly joined St. Gregory’s because of the traditional worship and the dynamic, welcoming love for all, excluding none.
Michele found work in the fall of that year, but I was still in early retirement mode playing lots of golf and taking care of our new puppy. In the spring of 2006 we saw in the newsletter, the Steeple News, that St. Gregory’s was looking for a Parish Administrator, and Michele said maybe it is time that you go back to work. I met with Fr. Andrew, the Senior Warden, and Treasurer and was offered the job and started August 1, 2006. It has been a wonderful experience and I have such a sense that I was called to St. Gregory’s to do the work I do.
