Saint Gregory’s is working to improve accessibility. One area we hope to address is support for hearing impaired people. Two technologies are currently under evaluation, and this survey will help us do our best to address your needs.
Option 1. Replacement of our 20-year old cheaper traditional radio wave option which requires personal hearing units for all users. A personal hearing unit is the size of a deck of cards, hooked to an ear connector. Personal hearing connector units would be optioned to work with St. Gregory’s system, and are not generally usable elsewhere.
Option 2. A more expensive Loop alternative automatically connects to internal hearing aid telecoils or to external telecoils if you bring them. Telecoils are used for phone conversations and automatically work with PA systems in any buildings equipped with a Loop system. People without a hearing aid telecoil would still need to use a personal hearing unit.
